Looking for input on "desmo service" charges. My DX is at 3 years and just under 20k miles. I'm in Northern California, both of the dealers I would take it to are charging over $200/hr now, and they both quoted me around $2600 for this service. Of course Ducati specifies a laundry list of items to be done in addition to the valve clearances, including replacing the timing belts (@18k miles?!), flushing the brakes and coolant, oil and filter etc. I had the selling dealer back out the items I could do myself (oil change, coolant flush, chain service etc), still $2600. My biggest dilemma is I purchased the EverRed extended warranty and I don't want to void it by not getting the work done. Any experience with independent shops and this issue would be welcome.

Great experience at Desmoto Sport. These gents eat, sleep and breathe Ducati - the tech who worked on my bike has over 100k miles on two different desmo twins. My bike was just over 19k miles; seven of the eight valves needed adjusting, six of them were quite a ways out. They had it done in about a day and a half, the dealer said 3-4 “working days”?! Right at $2k, no up charge for removing the crash bars like the dealer wanted, fixed the throttle body sync problem that has been present since day 1 which dealer failed to resolve @ the 600 mile service.
