DMS (Ducati Multimedia System) Desert X

Hi all,

Purchased this option for my DDX and I'm really struggling with it, and i don't find any clear manuals on how it works.

First i installed the Ducati Link app, and that seems to be working. I do feel its slow and buggy.

Then i read i could install the Ducati connect for turn by turn navigation (the main reason i got this feature) I managed to connect the bike to the app once and proceeded to some settings but I got an error stating that a license was missing that i needed to ask my dealer. i went to the dealer that did an update on the system but said he new nothing about a license.

Also ive paired my Sena to the device the dealer said its meant to be like that makes it easyier to use. but i dont really understand why. all i stated was that when i listening to music and the phone is conencted to the bike i get cuts in the music.

anyway i find this experience quite annoying and wanted to know if anyone had a bette experience than me and found a way to work around it.

Hi, so the Ducati Multimedia System works by directly connecting the smartphone, earphones and navi to the bike, so first you have to unpair the earphones and the navi from the phone. Then proceed with pairing the smartphone and earphones to the bike via bluetooth. remember that you can pair two smartphones, two earphones and a navi to the bike.
As for the TURN BY TURN system, the dealership must download a license on the bike (in Italy the license is active, I know that in some countries it is still not). If you have the license downloaded onto the bike using the Ducati Link app, you can set the directions using TURN BY TURN on the bike's TFT. I have everything activated and it works fine for me even if the TBT system needs to be much improved from how it is now.

I don't know about listening music... because I don't listen music when I drive.

So you had to disconnect the phone from your Sena for it to work well?

Also when you paired SENA to the bike did you pair as phone or GPS in the Sena options?

I advise you to unpair all the devices from the bike, unpair the SENA from the smartphone and also unpair the navi from the smartphone or earphones if previously paired, then pair the smartphone to the bike after pairing the SENA to the bike and finally pair the navi to the bike (these are the indications given by Ducati in a video that I can't find anymore, maybe they removed it). I did absolutely nothing on the SENA setting

yes, go to the dealer. I paid 65 euro for TBT license. I think in Suisse is available... we are so near🤣

Isn’t it less complicated to just use the phone for TBT and music paired with a Sena or Cardo to not complicate things?

My dealer didn't even activate the licence for my multi media system for the turn by turn lol ,they will be activating it at first service and if they don't the techs or service manager will be getting rag dolled for 20 minutes!!!

So i went to the dealer and they found they forgot to add the license for turn by turn that is a pay add on that costs CHF 66

Yes, the dealer must activate the license and the you can use TBT on your TFT using Ducati Link app no Sygic app
