Double checking some of the wiring

I've finally been able to really study the thing under good lights. There are a couple wiring connections that I was surprised to see so exposed, and when I zoom in on pictures I find online I don't see the same placement or lack of shielding, so I thought I'd post some pictures up here as a kind of sanity check. Do your DX's have wire junctions in the same locations as seen here? I'm not sure if this is something that's done from the factory or something the local dealer does as part of set up.

Right side between tank and timing belt:

It seems like those connectors are going to be completely exposed to mud, dirt, water, etc and I was surprised to see them not tied up snug somewhere behind fairings or the tank. Normal or abnormal?

Thanks

Mine has the same wires exposed just like the pictures… looks like a very poor job and I am also concerned about it
The cables in the handlebar are also exposed in mine

Yeah I've never seen wiring connection points exposed like this on an adv bike before. I'm partly glad it's not just mine, but it's a bit disappointing. It seems like I should be able to tie some of it up under some protection, but it's a little unnerving to have to do that myself on a premium bike. I suppose another solution would be to add a wrapping material around the connectors. They should have positioned it up higher, or extended the tank flange or fairing just few inches to shield it.
Wouldn't be a bad idea to pull the connectors apart and add some dielectric grease to them. Then wrap them a little better.

Yeah, I've noticed "exposed" wires or things that I believe should be covered. I've gone and wrapped them in either electric tape or the cloth tape they use on vehicles.
