Hi, just ordered my DDX yesterday after a test ride.

Based in the UK and already planning some trips and the ABR festival this summer to put my first sensible bike to use after too many years of track/ sports bikes.

But now I have the tough choices - what options. There are loads but I can’t find much in terms of reviews, so advice on options from those who have them is much needed…
- is the rally seat comfortable? I can’t find a review of it anywhere.
  • love the sound of the full termi system but damn expensive and worried it isn’t legal here anymore. Has anyone in the UK had issues?
  • is there any storage options out there for the rear seat? I don’t want bags just to carry a lock and a few emergency tools, and shocked there isn’t any space built into the bike at all.
  • has anyone got the multimedia connection working well and have a review out there?

Hi, installed multimedia system and turn by turn, I have a Galaxy S23 ultra and Sena headset. First of all you have to unpair smartphone with headset then you have to pair smartphone to the bike and headset to the bike (you can pair 2 smarthpone, 2 headset and 1 navi). With Ducati Link App and TURN BY TURN software installed (65 euro in Italy) you can use the App for gps, all showed in your tft. Just made only a little test and work correctly.

The Termi is legal in the UK. A mate has one. I'll probably go for the Akrapovic though. I have engine bars and I've put on my own Barkbusters. I also have the Perun Moto rear rack which is a lovely piece of engineering and works well.

The other thing I've added is a Roadlok disk lock which fits on the front brake caliper. A nice piece of kit. https://roadlokuk.co.uk/

Adventure Spec are also bringing out some hard parts for the bike. Next thing from them for me, will be a side stand foot enlarger.

thanks tufftywhite - I haven’t heard of roadlok before but that solves having a place to keep it. I think I will go that route for one.

Crash bars would be sensible - personally I don’t like the look, but know I will cry when I drop it the first time so it won’t be long before they appear.

I bought my bike s/h after 320 miles on it (ex demo) so the engine bars were already on it. Not sure I would have got them straight away, but I'll not be taking them off. Only takes a momentary lapse of concentration and the bike could be over.

I got my BarkBusters from Chainspeed and there is a model specifically for the DDX. Far easier to fit that I thought it would be. Took me about an hour.

Hand guards are a must have like bark busters (only brand I use) next would be quality crash bars and a quality sump guard, next would be a good sat nav system and a paint protection film , headlight protection and radiator protection and a front fender extender, decent tyres with a aggressive tread if using offroad , as for ABR festival I'd rather 💩 in my hands and clap 😆 cheaper to go riding on the TET and TRF trails for a weeks camping and more fun

Picked the bike up today!

Heated grips and MMS fitted (but they couldn’t get it paired so I will play with that tomorrow!) - other parts weren’t in yet so can wait for the first service. Now planning to get this first 600miles run in done, but still really enjoyed it taking the long way home. It is such an easy bike to ride and still playful.

Getting insurance was a pain as it still isn’t on the ABI list. Cost way more than I expected but done now and can forget about that until next year.

tested MMS and TURN BY TURN this week end, all works perfect, everything is connected to the bike and I receive and make phone calls and whatsapp voice or video calls also work. Turn by Turn has the function of TFT directions or TFT and voice directions

I don’t known if it is Apple iOS but the dealer couldn’t get it working for me either. I am going to give it a proper go in the week so when I crack it I will share whatever I learned to make it work for me.
