I’ve been lurking around this forum for some time, and now have a reason to post. Finally took command of my DDX and took it for a three day run-in up through the Japan Alps, during the Golden Week holiday. Zillions of families out and an about, fantastic to see after the past few years, enjoying absolute stunning weather. Stayed away from the main routes and found some picture perfect roads. Look forward to exchanging stories.

Thanks! Beach shot is west coast of Noto Peninsula—literally a beach road for about 5kms. Mountain shot is looking over to Hakuba in Nagano—where they held the ski jump and downhill competitions for Japan’s Winter Olympics.

I don't typically think of Japan when I think of adventure riding but those are some great looking places!

Definitely not the hard core tracks you’ll find in other parts of the world, but Japan’s ‘Rindo’s’ (mountain roads) reward with spectacular views—and you’re never far from a ‘conbini’ (convenience store) for a cheap snack and great coffee.

Pulled together a rough video cut of the Noto Peninsula and Northern Alps ride which you can see here, 4 days, 4 mates, 4 road surfaces. Bit long and self serving, but some nice scenery complimenting the twisties.
