Yeah that's pretty cool as long as that giant finger/thumb screw doesn't come right out and allow the whole top of the mount to come off.

I'm using ram ball mounts atm...would be easy to just unscrew and walk away with the GPS and mount and all. Would need to cut the power cable. But let's face it...if someone wants it, they would have it even if mounted to a bike parked in a bank vault.

That motochumps mount gives a little security to accidentally dislodging and losing the unit on the trail while riding. Not sure a tether wouldn't be better though.

I agree that is a bit expensive, but the unit itself is pretty expensive as well.

Here is mounted directly on the evotech mount:

I'm not sure how the screws will protect the unit itself, since you can push on the top release button and just walk away with the unit.
The Touratech lock holds the unit from the side so you can't remove it from the mount.
got this Touratech mount from my GS and wants to use it on my DDX, but what you say is, that its possible to unscrew the mount and then steel the XT?
I ordered the OEM, but stoped it do to the price, and is now to decide witch one to go with, have you found a solution using Evotech or would you buy something else if you could chose?
thanks

Update: So, I found another solution for the Evotech Performance GPS mount for the Garmin Zumo XT. Apparently, Ram mount sells this product with multiple stud adapters. One of the theaded stud adapters is the exact same size as the butterfly screw that Evotech uses. So, my plan is to replace one side of the butterfly screws with one of these Ram mounts. Can you post a like for the Ram security lock?
