Hi,

I will receive my Desert-X within a week or two (depends on same parts I ordered) - so no picture so far.
I have primarily driven BMWs for the last 30 years. Husky and Royal-Enfield were also there. The current GS models are no longer my world and the Desert X did it to me at first sight. I'm curious how long the feeling lasts - in any case, I look forward to the DDX like a snow bunny on the winter.

Best,
Detlef

Highway riding isn't like the big BMW GS models. I also see a lot of wind buffering and I have the touring windshield. Otherwise, I love my bike and it has been an amazing experience.

I ride with a Jethelm most of the time - so I'm used to wind noise and my last bike was a Royal-Enfield interceptor 650ccm - no windshield at all. Also - I normally cruise with not more then 130-150km/h (80 to 95 miles/h) on a highway -> faster only if I'm really in a hurry. I will see how the DDX performs but I'm optimistic ;)
Depending on how tall you are, you might want to get a larger/smaller windshield or a spoiler right away, if you plan on riding a lot on the Autobahn ;-). I'm sitting right in the sweet spot for max turbulence with my 196cm on the default wind shield.
I'm 183cm tall - I will get my DDX early next week - I will report what I got with the Touring Shield

got my DDX yesterday. Not the perfect weather here in Cologne. Some parts are missing - will get them with the first inspection (touring shield, crash guard...). Anyhow - I'm happy with my new white lady ;)
