I have indeed taken delivery and have 600 ish miles now Mostly paved some gravel.. So far i am impressed with the base package but as with any bike the susp needs tweaking especially if going offroad. It seems european bikes are always a little soft in the suspension, Im only 6'1 185... That ohlins shock looks like a good option tho i wonder if i can get the factory bits dialed in...

Hey @dirtcycle welcome to the forum and congrats on taking delivery of your DesertX! Were you looking at any other bikes before making your decision?

My buddy had a Cagiva elephant back in the 90's and a bunch of Ducs too.. the sound of those ferrachi pipes in his 900 sps kind of left a mark on me.. I have had a bunch of bikes over the years, smaller dual sports, built a slick honda CB836 cafe, lots of dirtbikes but never a Duc. FF a few years and my buddies have T7's Ktm 890s etc and i wanted to get into adv riding to combine rd/offroad passions..
I did a lot of research, prob watched every review twice and could hardly find fault with the DDX.. I thought of other bikes, but really there was only one choice.
