Congrats @Roadsniper1.
Are you planning to add any accessories and/or modifications?

Yes I just ordered the top case and rear luggage rack from Unit Garage in Italy.

I'll let you know how it goes, but they are pretty popular in the BMW R9T community and I have successfully ordered stuff for my Urban GS from them.

Would like to do a slip on, crash bars and some Baja Designs lighting soon.
Bike looks fantastic @Roadsniper1! Congratulations and welcome to the forum! What do you think of the bike so far compared to others you've owned/ridden?

Hello @Roadsniper1 I'm in San Diego too and got mine in August (supposedly the first one in SD :)). Looking forward to see you around in the dirt or at the Ducati OG bike night.

Welcome @padu_merlotti and congrats on your DesertX! What sold you on it compared to other bikes?
I also own a Multistrada V4S, and I was riding it like a big dirt bike. Then early this year I've signed up for the Ducati DRE Adventure in Toscana. The choice of bikes were the scrambler (nah), the MV4S (I already knew it), and the Desert X. No brainer, since back then, not even the news people had an opportunity to ride them.

I was perfectly happy with my MV4S and in my mind it would be my main adventure bike for years to come, but after 2 days of training and riding in Tuscany with the DDX, I was completely sold. I came back and put my name on the waiting list and got the first DDX in San Diego.

Now the V4S has street tires once again, and is the main bike to take the wife to weekend trips. The DDX is my new big dirt bike. Loving every moment.

That's really cool! I really want to do something like that. what kind of training did they have you do?

They focused on several types of braking, proper body position while in slow turns and low traction surfaces, balance and vision (riding through a long plank of wood, ruts), going over logs, uphill, downhill, etc. During riding day we practiced things like picking up bikes, fixing flat tires, etc.
@padu_merlotti , hi, I saw several contributes on youtube from you. Very nice.
Question, did you receive any comments from your dealer about de vanished screw to tighten up the petroltank after airfilter inspection?
Do you also reinstalled the new oem airfilter or an aftermarket one?

I didn’t. It could be one of two dealers, and I have no way of knowing which one forgot. I just bought new ones and that’s allright.

The new filter from DNA arrived from Greece and I’ve installed it already. Putting the tank back in was easy. I was planningon taking her for a spin but the front tire is flat. I’ll take it off tofind out where is it leaking from.
