Wow! That's crazy hot! Did the workshop re-flash the appropriate tune for the Termignoni exhaust system?
Oh! È pazzesco! L'officina ha rielaborato la messa a punto appropriata per il sistema di scarico Termignoni?

si, o così mi hanno detto
Li ho chiamati e mi hanno chiesto di portare la moto in officina per controllare che tutto funzioni correttamente
Find the silver lining my friend! Thinking that could light a double churchill...On the plus side, when you stop riding, you have an easy way to light a cigarette!![]()
Yeah that suggests rear cylinder is very lean….wonder if they gave us a bogus map? I too feel excessive heat coming from rear exhaust but have not noticed it glowing yet….going to take a sunset cruise & see tonight…..stay tuned. I also have the Termi exhaust & cat delete with the dealers uploaded matching tune.OH NO!!! I just took a quick ride, weather is currently 76F/24.4C, 30 minutes round trip the supermarket, and I noticed my right leg felt extra warm. I remembered this thread and when I parked at home I took a look and I'll be damned if I don't have the same glowing thing:

I have the full termi system with cat delete, dealer installed, no luggage or racks or any other weighty accessories. I'm 190lbs, and I wasn't racing it-- in touring mode, just a chill ride at 50-60mph, mostly 4th or 5th gear.
Please let this not be something major, the season just started(((
I wonder if finally getting my baffle out is related at all-- I can't think of how, but that's the only recent change I've made.Yeah that suggests rear cylinder is very lean….wonder if they gave us a bogus map? Definitely keep us updated - I've not seen this but also lack the full termi and remap.I wonder if finally getting my baffle out is related at all-- I can't think of how, but that's the only recent change I've made.
Edit: I waited a few hours for it to completely cool down, put the baffle back in, and I just did 10 minutes at 40-50mph and it was glowing red hot again, so definitely not baffle-related.
That's a decent theory, appreciate it. It seems like many early buyers of the DDX went for the Termi option, so if it's because the system is designed to run super lean I'd expect more people to have the issue. Though there's a chance many do and just haven't noticed. As for some unsolicited advice, I'd have the dealer put the original tune back on and see what happens. Or perhaps the race tune was a bit wonky as it was read into the cpu? Teething problems....
That would definitely contribute to hyper-lean states. In my case the engine temp is reading within normal range, and it's just the O2 sensor mount that's glowing red. One of the things that's troubling is that it'll overheat like that even after just a few minutes of low stress, low-intensity riding. The other thing that comes to mind is the Secondary Air System injecting air when it shouldn't. Based on the posts I'm guessing it's only the rear cylinder on these bikes that is glowing? (just adds to the curiosity)
Good evening guys, I returned from a short 10 minute ride ... when I got home I immediately turned off the bike, the sun had already set, and as I was walking away from the bike I saw something shining under the seat.
I got closer and it was near the probe on the exhaust (rear cylinder), it was incandescent so much that it was light. (look at the pictures)
It can't get that hot! ... before leaving I stood still for 3 minutes, just to warm it up (the temperature when i left was around 50°/55° C)
Then I left and never stopped until I got home, once I got there I turned it off right away.
I have the complete termignoni exhaust, mounted at the official Ducati workshop
The air temperature was around 20°C
The fans hadn't started, so the temperature of the bike didn't seem that high
The radiator liquid is at a minimum, but I doubt it could be that (anyway I'll top it up tomorrow)

This is Normal, this is down to the euro 5 emissions, also all vowing rear cyclinders run hotter than the front cyclinders because of less air flow, only fix is to get the ecu remapped with a custom tune and any tuner worth his salt will run the rear cyclinder slightly richer fuel mix than the front one, with the termi exhaust and the evo remap the bike does run cooler and richer but it still glows in a dark garage...
I have the akro cat delete mid pipe and am holding on aftermarket silencer hoping someone develops an ecu with pre-programmed setpoints for common configurations/targets similar to the Vortex on 500 excf. Torque setting, HP setting, mileage setting, overall settings,... Most actually richen the ratio rather than leanining it out and that not helps hte bike run cooler but eliminates the pop and flameout. I know it is possible to with the moto gp supplier (drawing a blank on name at the moment, my gp bike is down...) ecu and program the whole thing but that is beyond my capability/desire.That's a decent theory, appreciate it. My dash has the EVO indicator on all modes so the race tune definitely went through-- restoring back to original might be worth experimenting with, though if that works, it seems like that would make having the full Termi system of questionable value-- basically a very expensive sound enhancer 😅
Hey Gus, did you have a chance to see if your O2 sensor was glowing after your ride last night?going to take a sunset cruise & see tonight…..stay tuned. I also have the Termi exhaust & cat delete with the dealers uploaded matching tune.
