So I am out in the garage getting ready to install my Termi exhaust. Get OEM muffler off in 2 minutes & then move to kick stand shroud & skid plate. Everything comes off smoothly until I get to that little black 4mm Allen at the rear of skid plate that threads into cat….stripped head! Ideas to get it out?

Take a suitable Torx insert and drive it into the broken Allen with a hammer.
Now try to loosen the screw.
You have only one try.
Good luck.

Use mole grips or dremel a slot in it and use a impact driver with a flat head screw bit

Screw extracted did the trick & came right out. Full Termi installed & not it runs and sounds like a $17k motorcycle should. Pretty mellow with baffle in. Will take it out tomorrow. Hardest part is the top spring on the muffler…could not get it on.

Invest in some "extractors". They work really well. I don't know what the deal is but it seems bikes are coming with red loctite items that don't need to be. My Aprilia RS660 seems to have EVERYTHING with Red Loctite. I wound up shearing a head.

From now on I'm heating EVERYTHING first

I did! Plus I got the motor hot & used my heat gun. Problem solved! Funny how all the other screws on the skid plate are stainless & the one that gets the hottest & screws into the cat is shallow aluminum 4mm🤦🏻‍♂️

Might be mistaken, but it seems that there is a non "permanent" thread locker that looks like the the red version we see in the US being used by various manufacturers.
