Howdy from Montana

Greetings from our deep freeze in Missoula Montana. I have about 800 mi on my Desert X with most coming in the dirt. I ordered the bike in Jan 2022 and finally received it in August. Then my heated grips didn't make it until December. If there is a disappointment in the bike it's that the sound is damped down too much. It's a Ducati after all right? It needs to sound like one so I am looking at options there. I look forward to being in this group.

Greetings from Ennis Montana!

I'm taking advantage of the -51 F weather to harden the DDX. Magruder and Lolo Motorway are on the ride list.

Those are two great rides!
Those are two great rides!
Especially now that they've fixed the landslide issue.
Where are you in located in Idaho?
I've done lower portion of the Idaho BDR to Mountain Home from Elko NV via Jarbidge. Might do some of the other segments this coming ride season.

Welcome! O live in Hermiston, Oregon! Have about 150 miles on my DesertX. Consider each day a potential ride!

I’m in Boise. Hit me up when the time comes and I’ll join you. I haven’t done the lower portion, in favor of other rides. And I have a sad story about the road from Jarbidge to Elko. Rain leads to super sticky mud leads to a fried clutch (two of us actually) leads to a 1am, $750 tow bill leads to an unplanned night in Elko leads to a UHaul to Boise leads to a $1200 repair bill for the GS. 🙁.

Hey can I ask where you purchased you DDX from? Mine came out of Tacoma and my closest dealer is Spokane WA.
Moto Corsa in Portland. First class dealership.

I'm near Boise as well. Just ordered my DDX; hopefully it will be here March-April. Just sold my 1190R.

Hah! I got one $200,000 better than that...

At Charleston, 90 miles north of Elko on the way to Jarbidge, I got hit head on by a county public works F250 pickup that was driving on the wrong side of the road around a blind turn.

Ground ambulance to Elko, then fixed-wing Life Flight to Reno. One day in Critical Care, two days in Intensive Care, two days in regular care, and 3-months on oxygen after discharge. 8 broken ribs, collar bone, shoulder blade and punctured lung.

I gave up on physical therapy after 3-months and simply got back on the dirt bike and haven't looked back.

All is good now, but riding buddies say I used to ride faster. I suggest that they ride point.

I bought mine from Motor Cafe in Campbell CA. They've been my Ducati, KTM and Honda dealer for 30 years (although they no longer carry Honda).
My closest Ducati dealer is Spokane WA, then Harrison UT.
Which is why I'm so adamantly opposed to Ducati's "take it to the dealer" service philosophy. There are NO Ducati dealers is the Big Sky state.

WOW! What a terrible thing to happen. Glad you're back in the saddle.
