Mosko Reckless 80L Revolver Install

I’ve run Mosko on my other bikes (Backcountry 35, Reckless 40, Reckless 10) so I decided on the 80 for the DesertX. There were no pannier frame options (until recently) and the Reckless saved some weight vs Backcountry pannier-type. Did lots of research on adding the rear extension (OEM, H&B, Adventure Spec, and others - see other thread re Luggage Loop Bars). But then decided it was unnecessary. Had concern with back attachment because attaching to the grab bar made it a bit close to my backside when installed, so I added cleats to the fairly rigid license plate frame. Also some concern regarding side hang-over, so looked at the OEM loop bars for extra support. But after install, looks like it will work as-is. Finally - added the heat shield on the Termy. Now just need to hit a BDR…

I have aluminum panniers and I'm also looking at this pannier option setup. My question is do you think this setup would work with the side pannier racks from Ducati?
Thanks for the post. I am thinking about the Reckless 40 for my bike. How many days of camping can the Reckless 80 support?

That all depends...
There's a great video of a guy on KTM 350 EXC-F with the Reckless 40L that goes 20 days / 3,200 miles. One of the best videos on how/what to pack:

For me, if it's a week long BDR, I'm going with the 80L or Backcountry (pannier frame style). But either way, there's so much flexibility because of the add-ons via molle panels. Most importantly is the size of bag/box you put on top. The 40L comes with an 8L top bag (waterproof); the 80L comes with a 22L (also waterproof). But you could easily put the 22L on the 40L. A week camping can definitely be done with the 40L - but I like my "stuff" (fresh underwear and socks!).

I assume you’re referring to the rigid setup frame. If so, I’d imagine it would work with lots of side hang-over support and spacing for the exhaust (no heat shield needed). The reckless setup mounts on almost anything. Only thought is that you might want to try the backcountry and see if you can retrofit onto the Ducati pannier frame. You might be the first to figure that out.
Looks great! Thank you for sharing. Any way of mounting the Reckless without having passenger pegs?
Just ordered these as they are on sale at the moment. Very excited! I love my hard aluminum panniers but can't risk breaking my leg and question how durable they are with multiple drops...

You will find that the only difference between gear for a night and a week is the amount of food you take. Off hand, due to what the trips usually entail, I'd say 40 for back country trips and 80 for road trips. If you do buy the 40, spring for the 22 stinger, adds versatility.

I've got multiple bikes, and invite friends to join me, so I have several different set ups. Have the 40, 80, extra 22 stinger, and 30 backcountry duffle. Between all of that I can pick the smallest luggage to fit the occasion or set up two riders.

.
I plan to use that setup on my Perun Moto rack which has plenty of places for the cleat.

Looks good & thanks for the video link.

For what it's worth, I ended up re-installing my passenger pegs and hooking my Mosko Reckless 80 up to those. I couldn't find another good confidence inspiring point to hook the front bits up to...
Please let me know if you find another great option!

they also have a small rack and side fairing purpusely built for this kind of luggage.

Also this small rack is purposely built for this kind of setup
