I just got done bolting all of the new Outback Motortek protection package (crash bars, skid plate and water pump protector) and their pannier racks with rotopax and tool box.

Install was easy and looking forward to testing this out on technical sections soon!

Parts look great on the bike. Nicely integrated system...
That looks awesome. I'm glad to see the racks have a normal square outside the exhaust instead of all those contoured ones that can't fit a normal mounting plate like the Kreiga platform.

With the X braces you don't need the Kriega platforms at all, that's the beauty of them!
I wonder if that crashbar would be functional without the top piece?
I do like how they look..they look much better than OEM but in terms of protection...i wonder which one would be better, i know that outback really tests their stuff and have years of experience. But, Ducati does have tons of engineers and Audi money...

If I recall correctly they said that just the lowers alone can result in some pretty serious tank damage.

Definitely. Thing is I already have a set (with the OS 32 bags) from a previous bike. I've been waiting to figure out the best way of using them on the DX. Though it looks like the standard rack is out of stock, so I might end up going X anyway.
I was the same. I kept my Kriega luggage when I dumped the KTM 790 Adv R and got the DDX. I used 1 of the platforms for my rotopax and 18L OS bag and then mounted the tool box to the Xframe. The 32L OS bag will mount without the platform.

Yeah I think I might pull the trigger on the X frame model and do what you did with one side using the OS platform to split luggage/rotopax when needed, and otherwise just mount the OS bags without the platforms when I need more storage.
The outback motortek x frame racks are good 👍

Got mine and they look great with the Kriega bags.
Any chance we can see a photo of your set up with the Kriega bags?

They look great! I'm going for the same colour combo (black on white)... now if only they will make it avail on the int'l site already! :(
