Facebook Ducati Desert X page👍🏼I swear I saw a post somewhere in which a couple guys cut down the mounting hardware so the rack fit with the auxiliary tanks. Any help?
Yeah he shaved the inner piece down 7mm & shortened the bolts as well.Don't do Facebook but I do have the aux tank and the prerun rack ordered. Looks to me like it should fit, at most a little trimming of the bracket near the bolt mounting area might be needed.
Sell the items you don't want, PITA I know but those items are not cheap, then obtain what you want. This hobby is a work in progress. If I had to do it over again, i would have gone with your setup. I got crazy and got the factory panniers and top case and off road kit, which I regret. I might have gone with your setup and the sw motech crash bars and engine guard.
Maybe if we knew they existed.....Why didn't you go with a Nomad-adventure rear rack? Looks like a direct fit with the DDX auxiliary tanks.
Yep never heard of it.Maybe if we knew they existed.....
I guess we all have to try different ways.... I assume the Nomad install will be your next video.I hope links are working in this forum, I'm new over here. I ordered the bar clamps with risers from them and will see how is the quality. These guys are the real deal, looking at what are they making. And there is a link to the rear rack.
Nomad-ADV Ducati DesertX Rear and Side luggage rack
That would be good. I've received mine and held it in place. The provided spacer should not be used and the brackets bent in an offset, then all should be well. The offset should be between the two mounting points and be the amount of the spacer.I have communicated with Perun on a rack for the auxiliary tanks. He is waiting for his auxiliary tanks to arrive and then is going to design a modified rack to fit properly,
Nope. And those of us that run an aux tank are not going to have an overloaded top box, or any top box, anyway.Won't these mods to his rack affect performance (i.e., how much weight it will support)?
Sorry bro, did not know you delivered pizza's, sorry. My bad.Speak for yourself, I will.
