Bought my Desert X last week but did not ride it home as I drove down solo and ended up buying Termi exhaust, heated grips, Rally seat & an EVOTECH Tail Tidy.

Dealer is installing shorter kickstand & uploading Termi map & activating the heated grips. I will install the exhaust & grips over the weekend.

As for my ride home from Portland to Olympia…anyone here have experience with Hwy 30 or Hwy 4 from Longview heading west? On the map HWY 4 looks a bit twistier & I could follow it out to the 101 thru Wilapia Reserve which is a nice road. Trying to avoid long straight roads & very my speed & have fun. Suggestions welcome.

One question on the quick shifter as I have never owned a bike with one…do you use it all the time? I know that you can I just wondered if it’s smoother/ more practical to use the clutch at lower revs & speeds?

Can’t wait til Thursday!

You might find this thread interesting, also covering this topic: Quick Shifter and Aux Tank Question
But to sum it up: No, I tend to only use it for the upper gears. It is too clunky in the lower ones, which makes it especially unpleasant to use off-road. However, now that I have about 12,000 miles on it, it is noticeably smoother than it was brand new.
