Ruby Moto R4's

If anyone is looking at the Ruby Moto R4 lights as an option, here are a couple pictures. Install was straightforward although I did lift the tank a bit to get the wiring harness through. I had brackets made at a local shop that mimic the OEM brackets.

The wiring harness/dimmer makes install easy and gives you other goodies like a horn wire that will strobe the lights at full intensity when you press the horn. Great for visibility in a noisy environment. The dimmer wheel mounts out of the way on the bar so you can adjust between low intensity (default) road mode or sun-bright off road.

That sounds like a great aux light solution-- I really like the strobe-on-horn feature. I'm also really liking the black protection with doubletake adventure mirrors-- your bike looks badass. Congrats!

Do add some more photos/videos of the light's throw/spread at night. Also what the switchgear looks like and if possible how you've got it all wired. Ruby seems to really be catching on in this space.

What make of crash bars and sump guard are those fitted?

They are Ducati's standard off-road package. When I had the light brackets powder coated locally, I gave them the crash bars and skid plate. I dig the flat black.

I'll get more pix in the coming week! Still loving the Ruby's. Even on the low setting, I've noticed significantly more eye contact from drivers. I expected more visibility, but being seen is a big plus.

sweet set, just ordered, but did not see any harness or install guide, do the R4 comes with a manual ?
thanks
Nice! I’m going to powder coat the Ducati stuff too but plan to do the crash bars , water pump guard & rally plate brackets etc n gloss black to match the frame & the do skid plate matte black.

How is finish holding up on the skid plate?

The wiring harness comes with an install guide sheet, but not the lights. The wiring harness is here on their site: Wire Harness & Dimmer Switch

Wiring diagram from their guide sheet below and here is how I wired everything.

The red and black wires attached directly to the battery under the seat. I ran the wire harness down the left side and under the tank. I did not fully remove the tank, but unbolted and lifted just enough to thread the harness under.

The dimmer and press on/off switch attached to the existing left mirror clamp. It is an easy left thumb press and roll back and forth to adjust brightness.

The connection to the lights and the harness is a twist connector and I used dielectric grease in each female connection to prevent dust and moisture. I did not use the pigtails since the lights already have a twist connection.

The white relay trigger wire attached to the existing accessory wire in the rear of the speedo console. This prevents battery drain and the lights are only active if the key is in accessory or on. When you turn key on, the lights will come on for a few seconds and then shut off until you activate them with the dimmer, on/off switch.

The white Horn wire attached to the existing horn wire plug just above the radiator. When the horn is pressed, the lights will strobe (intensely).
I did not use the black high beam wire.

I was able to run the main light wire for each light through the vent and then up behind the side cover where I zip tied any extra together to keep things tidy.

I wish I would have documented the install process better, but hindsight is always 20/20. :) Good luck!

Finish is holding up great and is far stronger than paint. It hasn't been through the Summer off road season yet, but will post updates.
