Hey guys,

Would like to know if you got the annoying squeaky sound during braking. We got three DesertX in the fleet and all are doing it. I think it might be due to cristalized brake pads but just curious if others have the same thing or is there anything we could do.

it brakes good but just it is annoying for customers and for me too:)

thank you

no sound here - even with hard braking - nothing

Thanks! how many km you have done on the bike? Original pads? Cheers
Original pads, 16.000 km on it (currently in inspection) and I sometimes have squeaks too... Usually solves itself after they have heated up a bit.
Did you bed the pads during the break-in period? If fresh new brakes are used in a sudden or prolonged or forceful way during the start of break-in, it may affect how the friction material on the pads beds against the disk and result in uneven, high friction, audible contact. The manual says go gentle with these Brembos for the first 60 miles. I'm not sure how much of a difference that would make in your case, but it came to mind.
I've found if I ride in enough dirt, mud and rocks squeaks normally solve themselves. 😎

1000 miles on the bike. 1/2 in the dirt. sometimes squeaks when I roll the bike into my garage (engine off)

Mine too! Good to know, it's going around.
It certainly has something to do with how the brake was broken in. Otherwise, I would break the edges of the pads (briefly grind). That could help.
6000 kms, had the front discs changed, careful brake in period, people turn their heads when i brake gently in low speeds around town. Squeaks like a Volvo from the 70's. Not to mention that the bike now is on it's eighth week (!) at the dealers' due to starting problems. Brilliant bike the few days it has actually worked.

I'm getting this from the rear brakes, more of a low vibration/reverb. If I roll the bike backwards it's quiet but forward I get the noise for a second then quiet, then again as though the rotor is warped. I have noticed it at 100 miles on the bike and now have 180, no panic braking or prolonged braking either. I actually have to remind myself to use the rear since my previous bike had linked brakes.
