Has anyone fitted the sw-motech tank bag?
The one with frame that’s permanently fitted

I'm considering this option as well... Not a fan of straps. Hoping to hear from someone who is currently using.
If I can sell my new sw tank bag and fitting kit off my old bike I'll be getting the sw motech set up for the desert x
I've fitted the SW Motech frame an are using the Tank bag pro micro. Works well. It will take bigger bags but for me they get in the way

Do you happen to have a pic you could post up?

wow - this is massive... I stay with the straps of my Nomax Mosko Motor tank bag - more or less invisible when not in use. Expensive and not the largest bag out there but high quality and a good fit on my DDX.

Can you post an image of your Nomax install? I have one and it's just not clear to me how this is supoosed to clear the stabilizer and not end up taking half of the seat!

I am returning my Mosko Moto tank bag. The front left mounting clip interferes with the stabilizer arm on a tight left turn and almost dropped the bike when it 'stopped' about 2/3 of the way to the stop. Bummed cuz it's such a high quality bag, well thought out and well executed but interference with steering can't be accomodated.

Just bit the bullet on this - went one size up to the daypack (best wrong answer - I prefer small for adventures into the desert here but large on cross continent/international boundary adventures. Really wanted the Mosko but interference with the stabilizer arm a show stopper.
I added some length to the strip on the right side and removed length on the left - both clips are asymmetric now - this works for me.

Looking at my own image I got the idea to add as much length to the strip so that the clip will move as close to the tank back as possible (more then your setup) - I will try this out...

Good deal - I moved on and ordered the SW Motech Daypack. I tried to figure out an adjustment that would work and the best i could figure didn't get it done. Given the terrain here (western Colorado - bags gunna move when riding if it can) and the potential for steering interference is unacceptable to me so I'm heading in a different direction. Not moving on from the rest of my Mosko gear though!

thanks for posting. To double check because I am ordering the same SW Moto Set up...

I want to buy the tank bag Pro Micro like you pictured. Which tank ring do I purchase? The Evo or the ION tank ring? Looking at your tank ring pic it looks like the EVO as compared to the SW Moto site (link below). However, the sit also states
  • "Tank rings from the EVO series cannot be combined with PRO tank bags."

Thanks
For a Pro tank bag you need a Pro tank ring
I was debating that Mosko Bag, it is quite large, but does seem to be useful with the water reservoir. I am changing out that stabilizer with my Scott's so there wouldn't be interference, but that is certainly an issue, I have had that problem on other bikes.

If no interference it would be on the bike. I went with the SW Motech Daypack and it seems a decent compromise. Bigger than a mini/micro but not so big as to be in the way unless climbing pretty steep sections. It's the absolute smallest bag I'd consider taking on a cross continent adventure trip.

Thought I would show how the Kriega fits. I use a US-10 bag, which is water-proof, either on the tank or on the rear rack (from Perun Moto). It easily unclips. Also the tank adaptor itself unclips very easily.

The straps on the tank adaptor can be set so the clips do not contact the paint of the tank (just the soft rubbery mesh on the bottom of the adaptor) - see photo. Movement of the handle bars is not impeded except on full left lock, where there is a little rub, but I need to do that so infrequently and never while riding it's not a worry.

I fitted a Kriega haul-loop for when the rear steel grab-handle is covered by the bag.
