Normal. Mine is similar. It is the plastics, not the tank. The white livery makes it more obvious vs the black.

 

Hi, I rather think the plastic parts are misaligned to the tank. The gap sizes of my DX are not very accurate (for a premium bike) and I read the same criticism in other revisions about DX.

Thanks for the info! Yeah doesn’t seem very premium for sure, maybe there is something you can fix yourself by refitting but probably not.
Saw that the multistrada has similar gaps.
One guy on youtube (Nemo LTU) had the same and he claimed, if I understood correctly, that he got a new tank.

Not a huge deal, but it’s a shame on such a pretty bike

 

I’ve noticed on mine fitted with the factory crash bars the spacing is off by a cm or more … looks odd head on with the bags fitted …

Just remember the DX is a big dirt bike, not a Panigale. If you use it as intended it gets pretty beat up and plastics being out a few mm is least of the cosmetic issues

 

Mine is exactly the same. I was briefly obsessed that it was a fault at purchase. I took the side panels ooff and reinstalled them very little change. I think they are all like that.

 

I straightened mine by warming plastics with heat gun and then wedging some dense EPA foam between crash bar while warm. Seems to be holding up its new shape after few days.
