I went on my first off-roading adventure and the factory tires will definitely not cut it. It was a litte muddy and those tires had no grip in anything with mud. Has anyone changed out the tires for something more geared for off-roading?

The Rally STRs are horrible in the wet and anything more than just a dirt road. Deep gravel, sand, or mud, forget about it.

The motoZ tractionators are better. The TKC80s look promising but I've never ridden one.

Problem is...it's a 500pound dirt bike with lots of power. If you went to a full on dirt tire the bike would be great off road, but suck on road.

I have a set of Shinko 804/805 on my 77 R60. They work great on the street...and great on dirt roads...but haven't really tried anything more than that.

That's a set of MotoZ's tearing up the tail of the dragon. The Cagiva Gran Canyon is so much fun to ride in the twisties.

I will say they did get a little greasy after about 30 minutes of VERY hard twisty riding. But remained predictable when they pushed/over steered.

I changed to Michelin Anakee Wild, loving them for off-road and perform well on tarmac, negative point may not make 2500km on the rear seems the compound is a bit soft, but no tearing of nobs etc just wear down quickly.

I have to agree with one of your other posts regarding the pressures. Dropped mine to 2bar front and 1.8 rear, made a huge difference in comfort and grip. The downside is the tyre will wear faster. Trying to find a source for the Pirelli Ralily mentioned above, alternatively I am going to go for the Conti TKC80 setup. Never let me down and a good balance for the 70/30 riding I do…if I can stock. That ratio being dirt/gravel/single track road biased of course….

Hello, i was trying to find an agressive setup for my desert x in case of true offroad riding. I finally ordered what i think to be the most agressive setup for the tubeless sizes of the desert X : Karoo extreme for the rear and Motoz Rallz for the front. I will tell you when i will be able to test that !
