For U.S. folks I'd recommend against a 3rd party warranty and stick with factory extended warranties, Ever Red in this case. This is based on my one experience and talking to some other folks that have not had good experiences.
When I bought a used BMW I negotiated an extended service contract into the deal, it was with a 3rd party company (RPM One) and was worthless when I needed it roughly 8 months into ownership. I had an electrical problem (random limp-in mode) and the contract doesn't pay for diagnostic time on electrical or repairs to an electrical harness, etc. The service manager said that if a hard part (driveshaft, etc) had failed, the warranty was pretty solid on payment with that sort of thing.
I got kind of lucky because BMW had started offering extended factory warranty to bikes that were less than "x" amount of time out of standard factory warranty. I bit the bullet and bought a year of that and never paid a dime of diagnostic fees or anything afterward. They spent a lot of time troubleshooting and never did find the problem and I rid myself of the bike after many trips back to the dealer.
I have a Honda/Yamaha/Kawi/Suzuki dealer less than 3 miles from my house, I worked there at one time and have been friends with many of their service and parts people since. Their service people will tell you that 3rd party warranties are not worth the paper they're written on.
