Did you have problems with fitting them to the Desert X ?

 

Super happy with the model specific Barkbusters.

 

Barkbuster's Desert X gaurds fit perfectly on mine as well...

Do you remember which kit exactly that you bought? I got the Universal Kit as Rocky Mountain ATV suggested, but they did not come with bar end weights, and the rally wieghts will not work without modification. Hesitant to install without the weights. Thanks

Crash Protection would be nice !

 

Do you guys keep the stock counter weights or you remove them? I have installed a set of acerbis handguards and was a bit shocked at the weight of the counterweights. Had to keep them too, because the handguards need them in order to fit.

 

Barkbusters comes with it's own. My rally doesn't have much vibrations in the bars but I chose to keep the barkbusters weights as the spacing is better for my hands.

 

+1 for Barkbusters. I have them on my DX and they're solid. Another great brand is Cycra. I've had their Cycra Probend Ultra CRM Wrap Around Handguards on multiple motorcycles in the past and they are also incredibly solid.

 

I have had Bark busters on both by Desert X.
They are very well made and no issues .
I had ASCERBIS on CRF300L in Thailand. They were rubbish . But can’t be sure they weren’t knock offs.

 

For those who have tried both Barkbusters and Acerbis, how do they compare?

 

Yes, barkbusters work very well. Get their bar end weights. If still buzzy for your elbow install hvmp bar end weights as well.
